Nairobi - Opposition leader, Raila Odinga has called for the resignation of the National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, Senate Deputy Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich over their involvement in the NYS saga.
He lamented that some of the people who praised NYS programmes were the ones who signed shady deals that turned out to be grand corruption at the institution, something he says put their integrity to question.
Raila added that Duale, Murkomen’s involvement in the NYS saga has
“shattered the confidence and trust of the Kenyan people,” and asked
them to step aside to pave way for investigations.
“Hon Duale, Senator Murkomen and Rotich now have to resign from their appointive positions until their role in this saga is thoroughly investigated and established,” said Raila in a Statement released Saturday.

He further accused them of using their positions to enrich themselves by ripping off Kenyans, and said their continued stay in office “will push the government down a new low.”
However, Kenyans have condemned Raila for taking sides in the fight against corruption by protecting his allies whenever they are implicated.
The Senior Director of Public
Communications at State House, Munyori Buku further claimed that Raila
has a warthog memory as far as fighting corruption is concerned, citing
his silence over Moses Wetang’ula, Martha Karua and Evans Kidero's blibery sagas.
This came in the wake of a PwC report that ranked Kenya the third most corrupt country in the world, after South Africa and France.
The report further revealed that Kenyans did not have confidence in the institutions mandated to fight economic crimes.
