Raila, Kalonzo security to be trimmed

Nairobi - Interior Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Nkaissery has said that CORD principals, Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka will not be spared in the current trimming of VIP bodyguards.
Nkaissery said that over 11,000 police officers are currently attached to VIPs, which is against the law.
He also lashed at Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho for seeking public sympathy over his guns, saying that would not prevent the law from taking its course.
Nkaissery also threatened to arrest Joho for failing to surrender one of his guns as directed by the government on Thursday, Daily Nation reports.
On Friday, Joho returned one of his guns and maintained that he has never misused the weapons for the 20 years he has held them.
The firearms licensing Officer, Samuel Kimaru in ordering him to surrender the guns said that Joho was unfit to continue holding a gun.
Further, Nkaissery was reported as saying that holding a firearm is a privilege that Joho no longer needs as the region is no longer under threat.
