New Kericho Senator ‘computer-generated’, laments KANU

Kericho - KANU leaders have said that the new Kericho Senator, Aaron Cheruiyot, was ‘computer-generated’ by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in order to ‘help powerful people in the Rift Valley to save face.’
Speaking Sunday, KANU maintained that the IEBC used a geometric progression formula that gave half a vote more to every vote cast for Cheruiyot, denying KANU of the well-deserved landslide victory.
As a result, Daily Nation reports that Cheruiyot garnered 109,358 votes against Sang’s 56,307 votes.
Reports indicate that 126,493 votes had been cast in favour of KANU’s Sang while Aaron had garnered 38,162 in the March 7 by-election.
