New hurdle for UhuRuto as MP files case to block parties merger

Narok - Narok North MP, Mointalel ole Kenta has filed a suit to block the planned merger of TNA and URP.
While filing the case, Kenta argued that the merger was hurried and it violated the party’s constitution.
He also lamented that the party did not consider the interests of majority members, The Star reports, saying that he was not consulted in the merger.
On Tuesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto revealed the name for their new outfit under the slogan 'Tuko Pamoja’, which was expected to be launched in March next year as the President’s re-election party.
However, the announcement was received with mixed reactions, with majority of Jubilee MPs, especially those from URP, castigating the move and some threatening to move if they continue with the merger.
