Moi for President?

11 July 2016, 09:15

Baringo - Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has ruled out chances of running for presidency in 2017.

Moi said he cannot violate an agreement his party KANU made with Jubilee in 2013, but will consider joining the race later.

He was responding to suggestions by MCAs from the Rift Valley that he run for Presidency next year, The Star reports.

It is not yet clear how many names will be in the ballot next year, since the opposition CORD is yet to name their flag bearer.

All the three co-Principals have expressed interest in the Presidency, amid rumours that Raila Odinga might opt out of the race to support another candidate.

The Luhya community has also vowed to back one of their own.
