Kanu accuses DP Ruto of sidelining Kericho residents

Nairobi – Residents in Kericho were left with a sour taste in their mouths after Jubilee Party candidate, Aaron Cheruiyot won saying that Government have still failed to make good on their promises in the run up to 2013 General Election.

According to Standard Media they have accused Deputy President William Ruto of sidelining them and instead showing favouritism in State appointments.
The phrase ‘jamaa wa tumetenga’ (he of we have set aside) was started expressing their feeling of neglect.
Leaders led by Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi who were leading Paul Sang’s campaign accused William Ruto of forgetting about his people in his rise to power.
Leaders in the Kanu candidate campaign, said the people have been duped and denied basic resources such as roads and equipment for local factories that employ residents.
However the Deputy President defended himself saying that the Opposition are out to slander him and the Jubilee party.
Jubilee Coalition candidate Aaron Cheruiyot has sauntered to an easy win in the Kericho Senatorial polls, while ODM's Willy Mtengo has won in Malindi's Parliamentary polls.
Cheruiyot won 60% of the vote in picking up 111,000 votes while KANU's Paul Sang won just over 53,000.
