Nairobi - Former Makadara MP, Dick Wathika is dead.
Wathika, who also served as the Nairobi Mayor before becoming an MP in 2010, died at Karen Hospital Saturday.
Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko who took over from Wathika in 2010, said: “I am deeply saddened by the news of death of Hon. Dick Wathika this evening. On behalf of my family, the people of Nairobi and on my own behalf, our thoughts and prayers are with your family. I have known Dick for years dating back his tenure as Makadara MP. He was also the MC during my late Dad’s funeral ceremony. My family takes this opportunity to send our condolences. May God give his family strength and courage during this difficult moment. Our most heartfelt condolences. May he rest in peace in Jesus name.”
Other Kenyans also took to social media to convey their messages of condolences to the family.

Kenya has lost many prominent people this year, including the former Moyae MP Galma Godana George Muchai who was serving as the Kabete MP until his death.
Others who died include the composer of our national anthem Mzee Moroa Galana, Fidel Odinga who was the son of the former PM Raila Odinga among others.
