Nairobi - Former devolution Cabinet Secretary, Anne Waiguru has sued Machakos and Kakamega senators, Johnson Muthama and Boni Khalwale over last year’s promiscuity slur.
The two senators allegedly claimed that Waiguru was having a love affair with the President.
According to Waiguru, the remarks that were widely publicized both locally and internationally damaged her character and caused her family distress.
In a suit filed yesterday, The Star reports that Waiguru is seeking general, exemplary, aggravated and punitive damages.
She also wants the two forced to apologise for tarnishing her good name.

Last year, KES 791 million went missing at the National Youth Service (NYS), which fell under Waiguru who was the then Devolution Cabinet Secretary.
During a CORD rally at Uhuru Park in solidarity with teachers who had gone on strike over pay, the two cord senators said that Uhuru Kenyatta was sparing Anne Waiguru because she was his girlfriend.
After investigations, however, 21 people including the then Planning PS Peter Mangiti and NYS director-general Nelson Githinji were implicated in the saga.
Kenyans joined in the NYS fraud debate, coining the phrase ‘Ni Ya Switi’ to question why the President was not forcing Waiguru to step aside over fraud in her docket.
In November, Waiguru who had maintained innocence bowed to pressure and quit office.
