10 July 2016, 20:47
Bungoma - Bungoma County ODM Chairman, John Waluke has resigned.
Waluke, who is also the Sirisia MP, cited segregation by the party leader, Raila Odinga.
This comes just a few days after the resignation of the ODM Secretary General, Ababu Namwamba who has since vowed to mobilize all Western Kenya ODM MPs to jump ship.
According to Citizen Digital, the two defectors have called on the two Presidential aspirants from the region, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula to join hands to increase their chances of winning.
More MPs are expected to defect ahead of the 2017 polls, even as CORD accused Jubilee of buying the legislators out in order to weaken the Raila-led opposition party.
On Saturday, Emuhaya MP Wilbur Ottichillo also hinted at the possibility of ditching ODM party to another unspecified party that enjoys support in the region.
