Women MPs want cartoonist's apology
23 May 2013, 10:04
Nairobi - Capital News reports that women MPs are demanding an apology from a Kenyan daily because of a cartoon it published on Wednesday, which they claim lowered their dignity.
Led by Kenya Women Parliamentarian Association Chairman Cecily Mbarire, they say the Daily Nation cartoon by Gado which shows Deputy President William Ruto getting a massage, was in bad taste as they accompanied him on a now controversial four-nation African tour.
Mbarire went on to add that they want a gender sensitive media, not people who look at them from the waist down and not the waist up.
