Wetang'ula recaptures Bungoma Senate seat

Bungoma - Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula is the winner of the Bungoma senatorial by-election.

Wetang’ula recaptured the seat he lost through a successful petition that was filed by former minister Musikari Kombo, after the March 4 polls, Daily Nation reports.

By midnight, Wetang’ula was leading with 149,458 votes, Kombo was second with 81,016, while David Makali and former Bumula MP, Bifwoli Wakoli were trailing with 2,155 and 1,899 votes respectively.

Elsewhere, TNA’s Joel Onyancha was leading in the by-election that was held in Bomachoge Borabu Constituency, Kisii County.

Onyancha, the former MP was on the lead with 10,132 votes, followed closely by his ODM opponent, Peter Kimori with 9600 votes, Ford People’s Albert Nyaundi was in third position with 3, 317 votes.
