Nairobi - Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has been ordered by a children’s court to pay child support to a woman whom he had married under Bukusu customary law and abandoned.
The Standard reports that the court granted the woman temporary custody of their daughter but did not specify the amount of money the former Cabinet minister is supposed to pay her.
In her petition, the woman sought the court to grant her full custody of the child and requested a monthly upkeep and maintenance fees of KES 270 000, and an additional amount of KES 120 000 annually to take care of the child’s clothing and other needs.
