Bungoma - High Court judge Francis Gikonyo’s did not bar former Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula from vying for the seat he lost in a court petition.
It had been reported that the judge had blocked Wetangula from contesting for the seat for alleged voter bribery.
However, judge Gikonyo said he did not issue any orders barring Wetang’ula from contesting the seat in his September ruling.
Wetangula will now face former minister Musikari Kombo in the by-election to be held on December 19, The Star reports.
David Makali, a renowned political analyst and co-host of the Cheche talk show on Citizen TV, also expressed interest in running for the seat.
