URP plots to silence Ruto

Nairobi - Several leaders from Bomet County held a meeting in Nairobi in what is seen as a move to try to silence Governor Isaac Rutto.
Deputy President William Ruto and the Bomet governor have clashed on several occassions concerning the governors' calls for a national referendum to amend the constitution over devolution, Daily Nation reports.
MPs and county ward representatives from Bomet County met at the United Republican Party’s offices and the meeting was chaired by Senator Wifred Lesan. Rutto said the meeting could be seen as an attempt to "tame dissent" and that he would not let himself be bullied by attempts to isolate him.
