TNA members warned to support Kuria in Gatundu election

30 July 2014, 14:14

Gatundu - MPs and Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) from The National Alliance (TNA) party have been warned against supporting any other candidate apart from Moses Kuria in the Gatundu South by-election.

A section of MPs and MCAs allied to TNA rejected the nomination of Kuria as the party’s flag bearer in the by-election saying he was not a suitable candidate, The Standard reports.

There were reports that Kuria is not actually from Gatundu, which sparked the rumblings over his participation.

TNA Secretary General Onyango Oloo has said disciplinary action will be taken against MPs and MCAs who will not support Kuria.

Kuria's ascension to nomination has also been met with critisism from many quarters, with some beleiving that he is not good enough to represent the party following his previous issues with the law, where he has previously been censured for hate speech.
