TNA candidate restrained from campaigning

06 February 2013, 15:27

Nakuru - The Standard reports TNA aspirant for Bahati constituency Kimani Ngunjiri has been barred from contesting in the forthcoming general elections by the High Court in Nakuru.

The orders were issued by Judge Anyara Emukule after two voters moved to court claiming Kimani had been declared bankrupt yet Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and TNA went ahead and cleared him to contest the seat.

Through lawyer John Githui, David Kimondo Murangu and Geoffrey Kinuthia Njenga told the court the applicant was allowed to run illegally against provisions in the constitution and the Elections act.
