TNA: Maina Njenga not welcome

26 October 2012, 12:57

itiNairobi - The National Alliance (TNA) party on Thursday said that the former leader of the outlawed Mungiki sect, Maina Njenga, is not welcome in their party.

Speaking to Capital News, TNA National Chairman Johnson Sakaja said that reports indicating that Njenga was joining the party were malicious, “and a deliberate attempt to paint the party and its leadership in negative light during the current visit of ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda.”

TNA which is led by Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta made the declaration following reports in a local daily that Njenga was planning to dissolve his Mkenya Solidarity Movement and join TNA at a ceremony in his Kitengela home on Saturday.
