Makueni - Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been asked to cancel planned political rallies for the sake of the children and citizens of Kenya.
Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Wilson Sossion asked Raila and his team to stop holding political rallies and pursue their call for national dialogue through established institutions to avoid tension in the country, The Standard reports.
He said Kenya was saved by the international community during the 2007/8 political violence and no one wants to see a repeat of what happened.
On Saturday, Odinga declared that leaders of the coalition would not be cowed by threats and intimidation to abandon their demands for a national dialogue to deal with the problems facing the country.
