Nairobi - Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko wants the National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director General Michael Gichangi sacked.
In a motion filed in the Senate, Sonko faults Gichangi for the security lapses in the country and wants President Kenyatta to remove him from office, The Standard reports.
He said the Al Shabaab militants had launched several attacks in the country leading to deaths, injuries and property loss but NIS had not acted accordingly.
He added that information about the Westgate mall attack had been given to the agency but nothing was done to avert the attack.
