Nairobi - Nairobi Senator Gideon Mbuvi Sonko has offered to cover full expenses for 16 Kenyans willing to accompany President Uhuru Kenyatta to The Hague.
Sonko announced his intentions even as the President is yet to publicly declare whether he will attend the October 8 status conference at the International Criminal Court.
“I am willing to sponsor 16 people to accompany our President His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta to the Hague to show support and solidarity,” he announced on his Facebook page.
In the post, Sonko said he will consider 3 young men, 3 ladies(at least one gospel singer), 6 religious leaders from different denominations, and 4 elderly men and women.

His announcement comes after reports emerged that at least 100 MPs are also set to accompany the President to The Hague based court for the status conference.
Reports also indicate that Rwandese President Paul Kagame will also accompany President Kenyatta to The Hague if he does indeed travel.
