Nairobi - Police in Nairobi grilled Nairobi Senator, Mike Mbuvi Sonko Monday evening over Saturday’s confrontation with Women Representative, Rachael Shebesh.
Sonko was expected at the Kilimani police station for questioning over the Saturday’s incident, but requested the police to do so at his KICC office. Shebesh was also expected at the police station but did not show up.
Sonko’s grilling came moments after a warrant of arrest was issued against the two leaders for failing to honor police summons.
On Saturday, the two had recorded statements accusing each other of various crimes. Sonko was accusing Shebesh of failing to repay a KES 8.5 million Range Rover he bought her a few years ago, while Shebesh was accusing Sonko of assault.
Police are also searching for Shebesh’s body guard for disarmament after he fired in the air Saturday before whisking away his boss from the scene of brawl, The Standard reports.
