Kericho - Kericho Senator Charles Keter wants 10 top government officials to resign for alleged “coaching of witnesses” to fix Deputy President William Ruto in the cases of crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court.
Keter said the unnamed officials must resign, if not, they would be forcefully removed from office.
He said they are not comfortable to work with such individuals, Daily Nation reports.
Earlier on, two individuals who withdrew as prosecution witnesses in Ruto’s case claimed to have been harassed, bribed and jailed by officials at the ICC to give false evidence.
According to Simon Kipkolum Rotich, he was jailed for a year in a Dutch prison after disagreeing with the officials, while Samuel Kimeli Kosgei alleged that his children were taken away from him by the Dutch authorities after he failed to agree with the officials.
The ICC issued an arrest warrant for journalist Walter Barasa for trying to bribe witnesses to withdraw testimony in a case against Ruto.
The government is yet to effect the warrant.
