Senate passes ICC withdrawal motion
11 September 2013, 09:45
Nairobi - The Senate finalized passing the motion that had been approved by Parliament to have Kenya withdrawn from the Rome Statute.
However, senators allied to the Cord coalition walked out of the chamber in protest as their Jubilee counterparts went ahead to pass the motion, Daily Nation reports.
They argued that the motion was aimed at tainting Kenya’s image internationally and also as a move to annoy the International Criminal Court.
