Nairobi - Deputy president William Ruto has called on the CORD coalition to wait for the 2017 elections and leave them develop the country at the moment.
The deputy president spoke at the funeral of former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo's mother Selina Saturday, where he asked for cooperation to help the country move forward.
He called on all leaders to seek development agendas and leave politics to 2017.
" We are already here and in office. Let us finish our term and then we cam move to elections and contest them, he said.
" I just ask that we concentrate on development for now and build Kenya. Politics is allowed but at the right time. That is what we should look to, he added.
He also said calls for a referendum were misplaced and should be dismissed by Kenyans.
" It will be expensive and a waste of time to Kenyans, he added.
He insisted that the Jubilee government is still keen on ensuring there is equality in the country and for everyone and every region.
