Ruto pledges to back Cord's referendum push

Nairobi - The chair of Governors Council Isaac Ruto has said that they will work closely with CORD senators to ensure that the government reviews county funds upwards in a referendum.
This comes a few days after the Deputy President William Ruto successfully convinced Jubilee senators to back down on the issue, Daily Nation reports.
However, the Bomet governor defied Deputy President's request and pledged to support pro-referendum parties. He instead lobbied civil society groups to support governors in their push for empowerment of the counties.
