Kakamega - Deputy President William Ruto differed with Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale over push for a referendum to have county funds increased.
Khalwale had criticised the government for starving counties of cash, but Ruto differed with him saying that governors should show how they have spent the money they have been given before holding a referendum, The Standard reports.
Ruto was supported by former Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi who said that there was no need for a referendum to increase county funds from the current 15 per cent to 40 per cent.
