Return Anglo Leasing cash, CORD demands

Nairobi - The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) now wants a refund of the KES 1.4 billion that was paid to two Anglo Leasing companies.
According to CORD leader and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, the money should be returned and those behind the scam be prosecuted, Daily Nation reports.
Treasury made the payments to the two companies two weeks ago following a directive from President Uhuru Kenyatta. (Treasury confirms payment of KES 1.4B Anglo Leasing debt)

However, the two firms First Mercantile and Universal Satspace made a further claim of KES 3.5 billion over an unfulfilled intelligence contract.
President Kenyatta, in blaming the Attorney General's office over the first payment said the government would do all that is in its power to get the money back.
