Taita Taveta - ODM leaders in Taita-Taveta County are pushing for a constitutional referendum to amend the allocation of funds to counties.
The legislators, led by Senator Dan Mwazo who is also the former Tourism Minister were campaigning in various parts of the county and are accusing the Jubilee government of frustrating devolution, saying there is a need to ensure that there is equitable resource allocation between the devolved and central governments, The Standard reports.
The former Voi MP said that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto are opposed to devolution and he urged locals to be ready for a referendum as it is on its way.
