Raila wants corrupt governors arrested

Kisumu - Governors who have misappropriated public funds must face the law as individuals, says former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
He said he was not defending the governors, but was concerned by the fact that there were some forces against devolved government in Kenya, The Standard reports.
The former PM however pointed out that due legal process should be followed in bringing corrupt governors to book.
His sentiments come just a few days after the impeachment of Embu governor, Martin Wambora by the Senate.
However, the court temporarily blocked Wambora’s impeachment, a move that has resulted into a supremacy battle between the governors and the senators, who are backed by MPs.
Senators had summoned nine governors to explain their spending patterns but the High court stopped that process temporarily.
Led by Billow Kerrow, the senators said that it was in order for the governors to seek clearance in court but insisted that there would be no relenting from the course.
