Nairobi - Former Prime Minister and ODM leader Raila Odinga will vie for the presidency in the 2017 general elections, an MP allied to the former PM has said, according to the Standard.
Suna East MP Mohamed Junet has hinted that Odinga will contest the presidency in 2017 and specified that the former premier will be CORD’s presidential candidate.
According to the report, Junet, who is close to the ODM leader, said Raila will make his fourth attempt at the top seat and that CORD had agreed to back him.
The MP said that Odinga deserves to have a crack at the presidency considering his track record and the fact that he had given his life for the liberation of the country.
