Nairobi - The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) has hired buses to ferry its supporters to Nairobi to attend a rally that will be addressed by the coalition’s leader Raila Odinga on his return from a US tour.
The organizing committee was Thursday finalizing preparations for the rally that will be held at Uhuru Park, Nairobi after the Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo lifted a ban he had earlier on imposed on all political rallies in the country, Daily Nation reports.
The buses will ferry supporters from coast and western Kenya, where the coalition has a big support.
Both CORD and Jubilee had planned to hold parallel rallies on Saturday but politicians from Jubilee called off their rally saying the prevailing insecurity in the country could not allow them to hold the rally.
