Raila says referendum will succeed

25 October 2014, 18:26

Kisii - Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga Friday said that the Okoa Kenya referendum push will be successful.

The CORD leader said the initiative has gained a lot of popularity among Kenyans and that they will win the referendum vote.

He called on Kisii residents to support the push saying they will accept the outcome of the vote, The Standard reports.

On Wednesday, Raila told the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to start preparing for the vote.

Raila said the Okoa Kenya signature collection team is close to finalizing the 1 million signatures that are needed to push for a referendum by popular vote and that the IEBC should therefore start preparing for the referendum.
