Raila return timely for struggling CORD

Nairobi - Raila Odinga's impending return to the country is good news for the struggling CORD coalition and by an extension, the Orange Democratic Movement ODM.
Raila is expected to be back in the country at the end of the month and his return has already lifted temperatures within opposition ranks with a party set to be hosted in his honour upon his return.
The coalition will host a rally on his return in which it will address the ongoing issues in the country.
The current state of insecurity, the Anglo Leasing payments as well as other burning issues will all be addressed in the rally.
Further to that, there is the issue of the newly created provincial administration structure by president Uhuru Kenyatta.
" There is a party and a rally being arranged for his arrival. He is a great person for this country and his return is highly anticipated, Siaya Senator James Orengo said.
On the other hand, there are other issues pending in the coalition and especially Odinga's ODM, which has a myriad of problems to deal with.
There is the issue of the party's bungled elections which has never been addressed despite him creating a mechanism to deal with the issue close to three months ago.
And then there is still the Agnes Zani- Ababu Namwamba war, which has not been looked at conclusively since Odinga left.
Added o that there is the simmering debate over Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and his conduct, which has also yet to be dealt with and threatens to split the party.
" There is a lot for Raila to deal with and his homecoming, even though highly anticipated and good news, will also have its consequences, Oscar Nyamamba, a political analyst says.
