Raila rejects meeting President Uhuru at State House
06 June 2014, 08:13
Nairobi - Former Prime Minister and opposition leader Raila Odinga Thursday ruled out the possibility of meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House for talks and insisted on holding a national dialogue.
Raila who was addressing a political rally in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area said the country is facing a lot of challenges that cannot be solved by the Jubilee coalition alone hence the need for the national forum, The Standard reports.
He warned that there would be a political storm that will sweep across the country if Jubilee fails to engage CORD in talks by 7 July, 2014.
However, Deputy President William Ruto hit back at the opposition saying the government was stable and they would continue to serve all Kenyans.
He said the opposition should give them time to implement their manifesto and wait for next polls to be held in 2017.
