President Kenyatta pledges to cooperate with ICC

Cape Town - Daily Nation reports President Uhuru Kenyatta has said he will ensure Kenya meets its Rome Statute obligations even as he works hard to get his name cleared from the ICC case facing him.
Speaking to the BBC's Lerato Mbele at the World Economic Forum in Cape Town, South Africa, President Kenyatta said Kenya had ratified the Rome Statute and he would make sure the country met its obligations under the Statute and to the international community. The President said he fully intended to cooperate with the ICC and clear his name.
President Kenyatta also said that Kenya was an open society and the electorate had been fully aware of the charges facing him at the ICC during the recently conducted polls.
