Petitioners withdraw Uhuru, Ruto integrity case

29 November 2012, 14:20

Nairobi - Daily Nation reports that, a case challenging the eligibility of Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto to contest the presidency has been withdrawn.

A group of civil society told a three-judge bench Thursday that the issue of integrity could not be addressed fully if other presidential aspirants were not part of the lawsuit.

Describing their decision to drop the petition as "tactical", the activists said they will file "the mother of all petitions" that will encompass all politicians eyeing the presidency.
