Owalo: Senator paid Raila, Mvurya’s whipper

05 October 2014, 10:01

Nairobi - Former head of Raila Odinga's secretariat Eliud Owalo has claimed that the man who whipped the former Prime Minister and Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya was hired by a Jubilee Senator.

He said information from the man’s accomplices revealed that the senator gave Lengo Karisa Mdzomba KES 30,000 as a down payment for the job and promised to add him another KES 70,000 after finishing the job, Daily Nation reports.

Owalo said evidence showed that the senator paid Karisa to beat up Raila and Mvurya to avenge disruption of a meeting that was attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta in Migori last month.

The matter is still in court even after Raila and Mvurya said they would not press charges against Karisa after forgiving him.
