Nairobi - Former Lands minister James Orengo will be required to record a statement with the police following the revelation of illegal allocation of land in Lamu County during his tenure.
Orengo together with Dorothy Angote, who served as the Permanent Secretary in the ministry and Zablon Mabea, who was a commissioner will record their statements in regard to the irregular allocation of close to 500,000 acres of land to 22 private companies, Daily Nation reports.
President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered Lands Minister Charity Ngilu to revoke title deeds that were issued to the companies between 2011 and 2012.
