Mutua aggrieved by arrest warrant issued against him

Nairobi - Beleaguered Machakos County Gorvernor, Dr Alfred Mutua welcomed the ruling nullifying the warrant of arrest issued against him but felt aggrieved arguing such action was wrongfully given out to embarrass him.
He said the High Court in Mombasa had no basis for issuing the arrest warrant.
The High Court in Mombasa had issued a warrant of arrest against Mutua early Wednesday.
The warrant was later revoked when Mutua’s lawyer showed up to pay the KES 1 million that was the subject of the suit.
The warrant of arrest against Mutua was issued following allegations that his advertising company, Golden Dreams, failed to pay back money owed to Kitui Flour Mills.
Kitui Flour Mills has contracted Golden Dreams to market their products since 2010 but it allegedly failed to do so.
The company had subsequently accepted to pay back the KES 1.1 million but allegedly did not pay in time.
“There was a civil case involving a company in which I have an interest and where the company lawyer was inadvertently late due to traveling from Nairobi,” said Mutua in a statement.
The Governor added that the warrant was wrongly issued because the Directors of a Limited Liability Company did not have the personal liability from the company’s activities.
“Just because you are known, does not mean the law can be twisted to embarrass you,” said Mutua.
