Nyeri - The Nyeri High Court has dismissed a petition filed by Nginga Kimotho against Nyeri Town MP Esther Murugi.
In his ruling, Nyeri high court judge Justice Jairus Ngaah dismissed the petition on grounds that Kimotho’s lawyer Douglas Ombongi had no valid practising certificate from the Law Society of Kenya when he was filing the case on April 10, The Star reports.
The court also ordered the petitioner to pay Murugi, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission and Nyeri Town returning officer Lonah Wanjiru, the respondents in the case a total of KES 1 million.
