Muigai: Reject MPs send off pay

Nairobi -  Attorney General Githu Muigai has urged President Kibaki to reject two Bills that have proposed a hefty send off package for MPs.

According to Daily Nation, the government’s chief legal advisor said Kibaki should not sign the Bill just like he rejected a previous attempt by the legislators to give themselves a handsome severance pay.

The President refused to assent to the Finance Bill, which among others gave MPs a generous gratuity, in October last year saying the increments were unaffordable and unconstitutional.
