Mombasa - Mombasa County Woman Representative Mishi Mboko has been released on a KES 200,000 bond after she denied charges of incitement.
The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) ordered for the prosecution of Mboko over alleged hate speech remarks she made on Madaraka Day, Daily Nation reports.
Mboko who was accompanied by two lawyers also discounted rumours that she went into hiding when the DPP ordered for her arrest.
It is alleged that she incited Mombasa residents against two communities she described as putting the country in ransom.
She is also alleged to have asked the crowd to start a revolution in the country against supposed injustices by the government.
