Nairobi - Members of Parliament want the contents of the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) report changed.
They say they will push for the changes even after Parliament’s Justice and Legal Committee prepared a Bill to prevent them from doing so, Daily Nation reports.
The report which was prepared by the commission that was led by Bethwel Kiplagat and presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta was tabled in Parliament for debate before being implemented.
It accuses past regimes of presiding over terrible injustices including political assassinations to suppress dissenting voices.
It also wants President Uhuru Kenyatta to offer an apology to Kenyans for the injustices and human rights violations that were carried out since independence to February 2008.
The government has come under criticism for taking time to implement the recommendations made in the report.
