MPs proposes 60 extra civic wards

Nairobi - Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee has made significant changes to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) report and proposed the creation of an extra 60 wards to be distributed among 28 Counties.
According to Capital News, the committee gave Nakuru County the highest number of new wards, as Garissa, Turkana, Kericho and Kisii also listed to get four units for each.
The report, which was tabled by Legal Affairs Committee vice chairman Njoroge Baiya on Wednesday afternoon, explained that the committee had received 500 written submissions from members of the public on the emotive topic.
