Speaker Justin Muturi is under pressure as chair of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) to authorize the trip, by majority of the members.
A small faction of the members are opposed to the trip as they dim it wasteful, including Beth Mugo (Nominated) and Sammy Leshorre (Samburu) who tried to convince their colleagues to opt for a local supplier of the furniture in vain.
