Nairobi - Disciplinary action will be taken against Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero for supporting Philip Okundi of the Maendeleo Democratic Party (MDP) in the Homa Bay by election.
Kidero declared his support for Okundi who left the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party after the nomination of Moses Kajwang’, a brother of the late Senator Otieno Kajwang’.
ODM settled on Kajwang’ following chaotic scenes at the Homa Bay County hall after youths disrupted the nomination process and destroyed voting material, Daily Nation reported.
ODM’s political affairs director who is also the MP of Ugunja Opiyo Wandayi said his office won’t discriminate in its intended action against rebels.

Kidero’s working relationship with the Jubilee government has made his political relationship with the ODM party leader Raila Odinga shaky since his election as the Nairobi Governor on an ODM ticket.
Wandayi said they were happy that Kidero had come out strait to confirm he is a rebel in the party and they won’t hesitate to take the disciplinary action against him.
