Kibaki: 2012 elections will be secure

Nairobi - President Mwai Kibaki has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to provide adequate security during the preparations and holding of general elections later in the year, Capital News reports.
Kibaki at the same time, impressed upon the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to promote honesty and transparency in the run-up to the general elections inorder for credible polls to take place.
Speaking during the meeting that included Prime Minister Raila Odinga, IEBC chairman Ahmed Issack Hassan and IEBC commissioners at his Harambee House office, the President also assured them that funds would be made available to finance the elections.
