Kenya draws key lessons from French poll

Nairobi - Justice Minister Eugene Wamalwa says Kenya still has a long way to go in its bid to organise and conduct free and fair elections.
Speaking to Capital News on arrival from France where he had led Kenyan election observers to witness the second round of the French presidential poll, Wamalwa said that key issues that must be tackled are setting up credible institutions, the observance for the rule of law and the respect for those institutions.
He went on to add that one lesson they bring back home is that the French believe in their institutions; they have had good and rough times but over time they have put up strong and respectable institutions.
