Karua, Kenneth support CORD's push for referendum
14 August 2014, 09:18
Nairobi - Martha Karua and Peter Kenneth have joined the push for a national referendum spearheaded by the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD).
Speaking at CORD’s launch of one-million-signature campaign, Karua said her decision to support the referendum was driven by the fact that the Jubilee government had refused to engage Kenyans in talks on challenges facing the county, Daily Nation reports.
Kenneth declared his support for the referendum in a message that was delivered on his behalf by Ronal Osumba, who was his running mate in last year’s presidential election.
CORD has vowed to push for the referendum that seeks to address issues that touch on devolution, land reforms, electoral reforms, corruption and the question of inclusivity and equality.
