Kalonzo, clergy seek to end Muthama, Mutua rivalry

Nairobi - Former Vice President, who is also the Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, and the clergy from Ukambani have embarked on a mission to reconcile Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and the County’s governor Alfred Mutua.
Kalonzo attended a meeting at the Machakos Catholic Bishop, Martin Kivuva’s residence in a bid to reconcile the two leaders so that they could work together, Standard Digital reports.
Muthama is said to have attended the meeting, but Mutua could not make it because he was busy preparing for the Cecafa Senior Challenge tournament the county is hosting.
Differences emerged between the two leaders, the latest being Muthama’s opposition to the commissioning of the Machakos city initiated by Mutua.
However, Muthama’s petition to block the launch was rejected by a court and the project was commissioned by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
